March 27, 2026 – Como Acqua intervenes to provide a correct and updated framework regarding the topic of Integrated Water Service tariffs in the province of Como, in light of recent data released in the local and regional press.
The value of 475 euros per year per family, cited as a reference for Como, it is not attributable to the territory on which Como Acqua operates its service. In fact, in the municipalities managed by Como Acqua, the Average annual expenditure for a family of 3-4 people (annual consumption of 182 cubic meters) stands at about 390 euro, an amount thus significantly less than what was erroneously published by some.
At equal parameters, this data places Como Acqua in eighth place regionally out of twelve provincial territories managed in Lombardy, highlighting one of the lowest rates in the region.
In light of this pricing strategy, the Company is engaged in a significant infrastructure development project. In Industrial Plan 2026-2030 are provided for 208 million euro investment, intended for the adaptation and modernization of networks and systems. This is a significant effort for an entity that began its operations just over six years ago, after inheriting often dated and obsolete infrastructures, distributed over a territory characterized by a very varied and complex morphology.
The Company has also seized funding opportunities arising from the PNRR, benefiting from contributions of over 13.6 million and allocating such resources to strategic interventions such as network zoning, the adoption of digital technologies, and the systematic installation of smart meters. All with the aim of improving service efficiency, reducing losses, and ensuring increasingly sustainable water resource management.
Please note that the The Integrated Water Service tariff system is regulated by ARERA, which defines strict and uniform national parameters, within a framework where the tariff is strictly linked to cost recovery for the service and the realization of investments in the territory. Any tariff adjustments therefore reflect improvements in service quality, technological innovation, and infrastructure enhancement.
In a context marked by the effects of climate change, Como Acqua finally emphasizes the importance of responsible and shared water resource management. Water is an increasingly precious resource, and its protection requires the joint commitment of managers, institutions, and citizens.
