In light of the prolonged period of drought and the recent regional ordinance extended to all of Lombardy, which declared a state of emergency, Como Water e Water Alliance – Lombardy Waters intend to raise user awareness about the conscious use of water resources.
The Network of 13 Lombardy water companies has therefore drafted a Decalogue to invite citizens to use drinking water sparingly.
“The situation is complex and evolving— declares the Eng. Enrico Pezzoli, Spokesperson for Water Alliance, Chairman and CEO of Como Acqua – Winter and spring have been particularly dry, and as a result, water availability has significantly decreased. This condition has been aggravated by the abnormally prolonged heat of recent weeks. Water System Managers have equipped themselves to best cope with this emergency, strengthening infrastructure and acquiring tools and equipment to manage the situation. Meanwhile, each of us can contribute by adopting daily habits to avoid wasting water, a precious resource whose availability is often taken for granted.
In fact, it only takes a few concrete gestures, simple to implement but of great importance, to safeguard the resource: the Water Alliance Decalogue indicates good practices to follow to help save water.
