Como Acqua gets 50 million euro loan from EIB to support one-third of its 2023/2036 investment plan

The single operator of the Como province continues its rapid growth path, now also supported by an important financial transaction linked to its long-term vision

Como Acqua kicks off the EIB operation: a €50 million instrument with which the European Investment Bank supports the 2023/2026 plan of the sole manager of the Integrated Water Service in the province, covering about one-third of its total value.

The contract was signed this morning at the Como Acqua headquarters by the company's President and CEO, Eng. Enrico Pezzoli, and by Andrea Clerici, Head of Rome Office for the EIB. Engineer Pezzoli thus fulfilled the specific mandate received from the company's shareholders during the meeting organized also to illustrate the company's six-month performance and its strategic evolution objectives, with particular regard to investments, which stand at an annual share of 34.399 million euros.

The agreement with EIB allows Como Acqua to carry out a comprehensive long-term financial transaction, closely tied to its vision of development and constant improvement of the services offered to the community. The progressive growth in investments corresponds precisely to the need to modernize the water supply network, an issue that has become a priority following the water crisis that, starting in 2022, confronted operators with the urgency of intervening to contain leaks, avoiding the waste of the resource now commonly defined as “blue gold” due to its preciousness.

The EIB's intervention supports a virtuous path that has seen Como Acqua grow since the beginning of its operations in 2019 at a relentless pace, made possible by managerial expertise that has made it possible to combine maximum efficiency in the management of the Integrated Water Service with excellent economic results.

“The support from the EIB is a concrete confirmation of the company's level of growth, considering the type of entities that are granted access to this kind of relationship on the banking front,” comments Mr. Pezzoli.

“I express my sincere thanks to all members, because only the sharing of intents and perspectives allows for significant steps forward. Furthermore, my gratitude extends to all those who daily work with commitment and responsibility so that Como Acqua is increasingly high-performing in its fundamental mission of protecting the right to access drinking water, concludes the President and CEO of the Como-based company.
